Palmyre Pierroux
Academic Interests
My research focuses on meaning making in museums and other semi-formal learning contexts, and on the role of new media and technologies in different aspects of knowledge production. I am particularly interested in how knowledge and participation are produced in such settings, and the ways in which these intersect with formal learning activities in schools. Currently, I lead the CONTACT project, which explores the design and use of multitouch surfaces, social media, ubiquitous computing, and mobile personal technologies for meaning making in different museum settings.
