InterMedia offers a progressive training structure in a research environment focused on collaborative learning, cross-disciplinary perspectives, and writing scientific articles.

Research training
InterMedia offers a systematic and progressive research training structure that complement the PhD program:
- Thematic focus on ICT, communication and learning
- Group-based and individual supervision
- Research meetings for literature review, data analysis, scientific writing and publication
- Participation at international conferences and PhD courses
- Participation in collaborative research projects
- Participation in research groups
Research training cooperation
- InterMedia takes part in governance of and teaching in the PhD program at The Faculty of Education and hosts the thematic track Learning and ICT. InterMedia has also hosted the Faculty's first research school Learning, Communication and ICT (2004-2010), and is involved in NATED: The National Graduate School in Educational Research (2009- ).
- Internationally InterMedia co-organises PhD courses within NordLearn (Nordic network of excellence, 2008- ) and in collaboration with the research school LinCS-DSES, University of Gothenburg (2008- ). InterMedia was an active participant in the Virtual Doctoral School within Kaleidoscope (European Network of Excellence 2004-2008).
- Due to our cross-diciplinary approach PhD students from other PhD programs may enroll at InterMedia.
- InterMedia arranges seminars on an uneven basis with invited guest speakers from abroad, and on a regular basis arranges research days profiling ongoing projects.
