MIRACLE: Mixed Reality Interactions across Contexts of Learning
Mixed Reality Interactions across Contexts of Learning (MIRACLE) is a project funded by the Research Council of Norway (RCN) and organized as part of InterMedia's project portfolio. Project period: 1 Oct - 2010 - 31 Dec 2014.
Objectives
- MIRACLE aims to deliver models of learning spaces where a mixed reality set up can create a learning experience that seamlessly ties together different settings: the school, the web, and the museum.
- The provide knowledge and inspiration for designing educational plans that utilize the internet of the future. MIRACLE does this by
- offering new forms of technology enhanced experiences and models for designing experiential spaces in different settings: the school, the web and the museum. A mixed reality set up characterized by a rich amount of artifacts and digital representations in science will be used to tie these settings more closely together.
- creating new interfaces that break down boundaries between virtual and real spaces for learning and communicating.
- offering new solutions for personalized and tailorable technologies for collaboration and communication.
- examining how these mixed reality set ups are used by students, teachers, and museum curators to support conceptual development in science education.
