About the project
The project focus on use of digital technology in media-education. The analysis draw attention to classroom conventions in using digital technology and how teachers/learners relate to these rules when engaged in instructional procedures.
Objectives
The aims with the project is to Illustrate:
- How classroom practices with deeply rooted use of digital tools are organized
- How classroom organizing is rooted in local conventions and procedures
- How conventions and procedures evolve historically and in situational negotiations
Theory and methods
The research is based on a qualitative design with ethnographic classroom observations as the main empirical corpus. In addition to classroom observations, the analyses are supported by teacher and student interviews, document analysis and examinations of student productions in the classroom.

Outcomes
The project contributes to the discussion on digital technologies in education and didactics on implementation. The project also contributes to ongoing discussions in Cultural Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) regarding the use of theoretical concepts in analyzing educational contexts.
The work will result in a PhD thesis.
