Academic interests

I am director at CEMO since August 2014, and I have two different roles: As the director I have to make sure that the center follows its missions and reaches its outstanding national and international objectives. As a researcher I am interested in applied research on the relationship of competencies and performance, primarily with respect to higher education graduates but also across the life span. I am used to applying advanced quantitative methods, in particular confirmatory approaches but I like more exploratory ones such as latent class analysis as well. A particular interest of mine is to study measurement (non-)invariance or DIF and their reasons.

My mission as CEMO’s director is to recruit nationally and internationally renowned colleagues as professors, postdoctoral fellows, PhD students, professor-II colleagues or visiting scholars. In addition, it is my responsibility to provide appropriate working conditions in terms of a collaborative internal climate, participation of staff members in decisions about the direction of CEMO, sufficient time for thorough research, well-established and transparent administrative routines, support through funding and professional development activities as well as access to national and international networks.
