Higher education and workplace learning

This area of research focuses on how changes in political, economic and social circumstances affect higher education and workplace learning.

The area includes higher education policy studies, studies of the university as an institution, in-depth studies of educational activities, and how new technology is used in an educational and learning context, and finally studies on how knowledge and learning interact in various professional fields and in an individual’s course of life.

Research in this area produces important knowledge that contributes to a better understanding of how changing societal conditions create new institutional practices and learning environments in higher education, in different parts of the workplace and in a lifelong learning perspective.
