Title: School Leadership and Quality of School Climate across the World

Abstract: Leadership for learning (LfL) framework is an extension of instructional leadership models in which focus is kept on learning and instruction but incorporating a more collaborative and shared perspective that suggests a wide range of leadership actors. As such many LfL domains are achieved jointly by teachers and principals. The unity around school goals, teaching beliefs, shared rules and trust is therefore important for creating a healthy school environment. In this work I discuss possibilities to quantify the gaps in how school climate is perceived by teachers and principal within and across countries participating in the TALIS 2018 study. I discuss how such gaps coexist in the school being sometimes innovative and other times destructive. Further, I am interested to what extent dominant leadership styles can explain such a gaps in perception of school environment in which leadership plays an important and sometimes dominant role.
