In this introduction course to open access publishing, you will learn about the requirements from research funders, self-archiving, licenses and how to publish through UiO's publishing agreements.

About the course

Here you will learn about tools and resources for meeting the requirements from research funders, including how to self-archive publications in DUO research archive. We will explain how the Creative Commons licenses are built and what to consider when choosing one. We will also show how to publish through UiO's publishing agreements and talk about Open Access options for books and book chapters.

Learning objectives

In this course you will learn the basics about open access publishing and become familiar with word like Plan S, Rights retention strategy, Journal Checker Tool, DOAJ, Sherpa Romeo, predatory publishing, article versions, author rights, gold green and hybrid OA, the Norwegian level 1 and level 2 journal system.
