Request guidance and assitance in Universal Design

Do you want help and guidance to universally design your digital teaching material? You can book a student assistant to help you.

Digital content published in Vortex (web pages), Canvas, and Inspera must be universally designed according to Norwegian law.

It may seem like a large and overwhelming task to comply with this legal requirement, but don't worry, help is available.

As a pilot project in the spring semester of 2025, it is possible for teachers from IPED to book guidance from IDEA's student assistants. They have been trained in the most common universal design mistakes and can assist you. The students' task is to guide you so that you increase your competence in universal design.

To ensure a common understanding of the guidance to be provided, IDEA has prepared an expectations clarification:

IDEA StudentTeam offers guidance and assistance in universal design of digital teaching materials. We have been trained in the most common challenges related to universal design and how these can be solved.

We wish to share this knowledge with you  so that you also gain insight into the principles of making digital teaching materials accessible to everyone. It is important to emphasize that our offer involves guidance, so you can acquire the skills yourself. We will not do the work for you. In this way, we hope to contribute to your sense of accomplishment and increase your competence.

And don't worry, it is easier than you think.
