The Dialectic of Person and Practice: How cultural-historical accounts of agency can inform teacher education
A seminar with Professor Anne Edwards (University of Oslo/University of Oxford). Edwards will present some of her latest work on agency in teacher education.
Professor Anne Edwards, University of Oxford.
The seminar has a twofold focus: The first is the conceptualisation of agency from a cultural historical perspective. The second is how this notion of agency can inform the design of teacher education programs, by creating demanding but supportive learning environments that foster student teachers’ development.
Anne Edwards will present some of her latest work on agency in teacher education, based on the book chapter “The Dialectic of Person and Practice: how cultural-historical accounts of agency can inform teacher education”, to be published in the forthcoming SAGE Handbook on Teacher Education.
