In this lecture, Dijana Tiplic will present complementary theoretical perspectives, various methodological tools and different types of analyses, in an attempt to connect some dots in educational leadership research. In particular, she will address three issues about educational leadership. First, she will trace the theoretical heritages of the field by applying the bibliometric analysis on the leadership models in schools. Second, she will unpack the empirical evidence on educational leadership, and other organizational factors, related to the motivational aspects in schools by presenting findings from two research projects: Email2 and Nordment. Third, she will sketch an agenda for future research to better understand learning phenomena in situations when the feedback about learning outcomes is lacking or unreliable. By applying simulation modelling, she will explore a role that connections and aspirations play in processes in which learning outcomes are subject to probabilistic variation. Research implications will be addressed throughout the lecture.
