Overview of H.M. The King's Gold Medals at the Faculty of Education

H.M. The King's Gold Medal is awarded to an outstanding, younger researcher for a scientific work assessed by the University of Oslo. The work must be recognised as a significant contribution to the research literature in the field. The medals are presented at the university's annual celebration.

Several doctoral theses have been awarded H.M. The King's Gold Medal at the Faculty of Education.

The departments are invited every other year to recommend an exceptional doctoral thesis completed by a candidate who was 35 years old or younger at the time of submission.

Based on these nominations, the faculty makes a recommendation on who should be awarded this year's H.M. The King's Gold Medal.
