About the project
The primary objective of the research project is to generate knowledge and insight about how some teachers and health nurses in secondary schools can contribute to prevent domestic violence, including various forms of violence that can occur in the family between adults, and between adults and children. First, the project will examine responses and approaches used to prevent and detect violence. Furthermore, the study will examine responses that children need and benefit from being met with. We will look at the role and function of different parties in the collaboration.
Objectives
We know little about how teachers and health nurses experience the work against domestic violence, and how children want to be met. The aim of the study is therefore to try to identify and describe experiences that some teachers and health nurses may have linked to their work, and how children feel that they want to be met. By experiences we mean thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Background
The project is a public sector Ph.D. in Osloskolen, where the candidate works 75% of the time with research and 25% in the public sector over four years from 2022 to 2026. The project will be carried out in collaboration between the Education Agency, NKVTS and the Department of Special Education. To answer the research questions, a qualitative study will be conducted with an exploratory research design, where teachers, health nurses, children and management freely talk about their subjective experiences.
