The faculty's career-building festival returns mid-October, and once again we're offering a strong line-up of local researchers and communication specialists, as well as external experts — all ready to share hard-won advice from their own career journeys.
Three days’ a charm
Through three jam-packed days, participants can look forward to sessions spanning funding, career strategy, visibility, and teaching.
Head of communications at the Medical Faculty, Thomas Olafsen, kicks off the week on Tuesday with a session on the art of the pitch.
Nicolai Borgen opens the funding conversation with a session on how to secure prestigious research grants, while Lisbeth M. Brevik returns to walk participants through strategic career-building, from CVs to work plans.

New in 2026: teaching skills
Teaching finally gets its own spotlight this year.
Elin Sæther addresses the mental shift from student to lecturer, and Professor Inga Bostad and Ph.D. candidate Elodie Guillemin tackle the everyday reality of co-teaching alongside a senior colleague.
Team Ingvill Rasmussen and Ole Smørdal offer a hands-on workshop on active student participation, digital tools, and AI in teaching.
Profile building and communications
This year, Nani Teig and Lisbeth M. Brevik join forces on building your academic profile. Time management gets its due as well, with Nani Teig and colleagues from OPA leading a session on self-management and getting things done.

Visibility and communication remain a strong thread throughout Week 42. Social media experts Guro Sollie Hansebakken and Amund Aasbrenn dig into research communication on social media and Shane Colvin returns with two popular guidance on visual presentation for posters and slides.
