Hybrid and flexible teaching
Hybrid and flexible teaching designs enable students to choose how, where, or when they want to participate. In this way, we meet different student groups and needs, while still safeguarding the academic content.
Briefly explained
Hybrid teaching
Characterized by teaching taking place both physically and digitally, and both forms of participation offering an equally full learning experience.
The teaching is streamed while it is taking place, and students can participate via chat or on the digital screens in the seminar rooms.
Flexible teaching
When and where must the teaching be carried out? The answer provides an indication of how flexible the teaching is. The time and place for delivering teaching are central, and encompass more than just hybrid solutions.
Different degrees and forms of flexibility range, for example, from fully flexible digital teaching designs to recording/streaming of lectures.
Why hybrid/flexible teaching?
More and more students are working, have families and/or live outside Oslo. In order to reach this target group, while still providing an equal offer, hybrid and flexible teaching is a good alternative.
For students with disabilities and others who need accommodations, flexible/hybrid teaching solutions can support completion of their studies on the student’s own terms.
Make use of the seminar rooms for hybrid teaching
Some of the seminar rooms in Helga Eng’s building are particularly well suited for hybrid teaching.
