Opening of Academic Year and the "Jonas" prize for 2011

The Department of Special Needs Education is celebrating its 5o-year anniversary this year and to mark this occasion the opening of the academic year 2011-2012 will be held in the University's Aula. The "Jonas" prize for 2011 will also be awarded during the opening ceremony.

The "Jonas" prize is awarded to a person, organization or institution that has made extraordinary efforts to promote awareness about disabled persons and disability discrimination in society. The nominees are ranked with a particular emphasis on efforts to create a more tolerant society where differences between individuals are seen as an advantage rather than a problem.
