Diamanti delivered an oral presentation of the effects of the reading intervention that seem to be primarily mediated by familiarity with the specific words that have been repeatedly read rather than by general reading mechanisms.
Protopapas delivered an oral presentation on the interference from adjacent words on word recognition which we have also documented for 2nd and 5th graders (in addition to previous related work with adults).
We also had the opportunity to hear about related work by other researchers, discuss our mutual interests, and make contacts for future collaboration.
