Protopapas delivered an oral presentation on the effect of nearby words on word recognition. He presented recent data demonstrating that the effect is stronger from the right side, consistent with the allocation of attention during reading. The data also indicate that multiple words are processed simultaneously, and this can lead to interference among them.
