Metadata a prerequisite for sharing data? Sharing data requires that we have a system for categorizing the data so that it provides sufficient information to others. Such classification is often called metadata. In this breakfast seminar we will give a brief introduction to metadata followed by various examples of discipline-specific metadata (also called 'controlled vocabularies') from research on language, extremism, teaching and learning.
