Academic interests

In my research so far I have dealt with the following topics: student, teacher and school characteristics affecting academic achievement; assessing the quality and efficacy of the education system (secondary analysis of TIMSS and PISA data); teacher beliefs and practices and their impact on student learning; motivation for learning; mathematics anxiety; emergent literacy.

Background

Before working as a researcher at University of Oslo, I worked as a postdoc within the same institution and a research associate at the Institute for Educational Research in Belgrade (Serbia). I also have seven years of teaching experience at an upper secondary level. Through the years I was part of many projects where I held positions as a researcher, author of the project and/or project manager. Broadly they all fall under the teacher and school effectiveness domain. Since 2007 I was actively involved in teacher in-service training in Serbia and the development of different teacher tools.Currently, I am also an assistant editor in the European Journal of Psychology of Education and JURE Coordinator for EARLI SIG 10 - Social Interaction in Learning and Instruction.

I graduated in psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, where I also obtained my magister degree in developmental psychology. My doctoral studies in educational psychology, I finished at the University of Belgrade, while part of my doctoral training took place at the Doctoral School in Educational Sciences: Learning, Interaction and Schooling (DSES-LEARN) at University of Gothenburg.

Before joining the TIMSS group in Norway, I was a member of the national team TIMSS 2015 in Serbia.
