Professional experience

I am currently working as a researcher at the Department of Teacher Education and School Research. My work includes leading the project TESO funded by the Norwegian Research Council and the research group LEA. My work also includes analyzing data from TIMSS and other large scale surveys such as PISA and TALIS, collecting data for TIMSS, supervision (Ph.D. and master students), and publishing articles and reports. I am also working as an external expert for the international questionnaire expert groups in TIMSS, TALIS, and TALIS Starting Strong.

Prior to this, I worked with the professional development of teachers at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. I have also worked as a teacher in mathematics and science in high school.

Education: I have a Ph.D. in science education and a master in astrophysics. In addition, I have studied pedagogy (PPU) and programming.

Research interests

Educational measurement and quantitative methods, causality, teaching quality and instructional quality, school climate, equity, international large-scale surveys, science, and mathematics education.
