Archaeonet (PhD project) (completed)

A PhD project exploring the potential of collective knowledge building, situated and contextual information sharing, and collaborative practices in social and mobile technologies in the design of communication services for the Museum of Cultural History.

About the project

The PhD project ARCHAEONET is one of the cases in the multidisciplinary research project CONTACT.

In order to understand how ICTs may be taken up to support archaeological practices and communication within MCH and with the public, the project will study how work is organized, including patterns of collaboration from excavation sites to the catalogized, registered, magazined, and exhibited 'finished' artifacts. A second focus of the project is the design and study of digital resources for use in high school history classes.
