About the conference
The European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI) started in 1985, and organizes Biennial international Conferences “that attracts more than 2000 participants from over 40 countries.” This year, the theme for the conference was “Realising Potentials through Education: Shaping the Minds and Brains for the Future.” Read more here.
Janne von Koss Torkildsen presented findings from both Captain Morph projects, co-authored by Jarl Kleppe Kristensen, Amund Grothe and Andreas Falck. This was done in a session together with three other researchers on the topic of efficacy of vocabulary interventions in early educational settings. Here we received insightful feedback, and connecting with similar projects sparked productive discussions which we can learn from moving forward. The rest of the conference also provided a lot of inspiring presentations and conversations with educational researchers, many also doing work on writing and game-based learning. There was also time to explore the beautiful city of Graz outside conference hours.
