The MapIE project aims to identify mechanisms causing educational inequalities and policies or interventions compensating for them. CEMO, University of Oslo is one of the six partners in the project

Educational inequalities are a growing concern across Europe. As societies undergo significant transformations—such as demographic shifts, economic changes, technological advancements, and increasing migration—ensuring equal access to quality education becomes more critical than ever. Due to these rapid changes, it is critical to look at educational inequalities across different educational contexts and models to understand how those contexts shape the development of inequalities and to identify the existing mechanisms that help compensate for them.

This open seminar, organized as part of the Horizon Europe MapIE project by the Research Centre on Education, Assessment, and Learning (REAL, Tampere University), invites participants to explore how educational inequalities manifest in Central European and Nordic countries that fundamentally differ in their educational models.
