Research on language minority students' language learning and reading comprehension in two projects:

  • Language minroity students' text comprehension - a longitudinal study
  • Teaching for text comprehension: supporting young second language learners' text comprehension in urban, multiethic preschools in Norway

  • Young children's close relationships outside of the family: Parental ethnotheories in four communities in Norway, United States, Turkey and Korea (with Carolyn Edwards)
  • Classroom research: part of the evaluation of Reform -97, a comprehensive Norwegian school reform (with Kirsti Klette, Frøydis Hertzberg og Bente Hagtvet)
