In spring 2026, the Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO) was asked by the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research to investigate how difficult different elective subjects are in Norwegian upper-secondary school. The project, titled "Karakterulempe og kompensasjonsnivå i realfag", focused especially on elective subjects in natural science (realfag).
