Education groups awarded funding
Kick-off seminar 18 March 2026

Vice Dean of Studies Greta Björk Gudmundsdottir gave the welcome address and explained the rationale for this initiative.
The seminar was framed by experiences from a previous research project at IPED related to peer supervision in higher education (PeTS), as well as the ongoing project on academic hospitality (AHIE). Both of these projects contribute knowledge and empirical data on how the Education Groups can organise their work for joint educational development and collective competence building.
PhD candidate Sofie Bastiansen presented her findings from the project on peer supervision in higher education. Afterwards, postdoctoral professor Mary Preston Sutphen and Kjetil Horn Hogstad presented the ongoing research project on academic hospitality.

Finally, the five different Education Groups presented their focus areas and plans for the groups’ work and dissemination of results, before the head of the Pedagogical Academy gave an enthusiastic endorsement of UV’s initiative.
