Invited workshop: Partnership Research in Education

At this invited workshop as part of QUINT Conference 2023, Professor Hilda Borko from Stanford University presents her work on partnership research in education. Open to all conference delegates.

Professor Hilda Borko from Center to Support Excellence in Teaching, Stanford University presents her work on partnership research in education.

Through a combination of presentation and discussion, these questions will be considered:

  • What is partnership research in education?
  • Why engage in partnership research?
  • What are the benefits of partnership research? What are the challenges?
  • What are the knowledge, skills, dispositions, and experiences an individual needs for partnership research?
  • What major changes in institutions and infrastructure are needed to support sustainable partnership research in education? How can we support those changes?

About Professor Hilda Borko

Hilda Borko is the Charles E. Ducommun Professor of Education in the Stanford Graduate School of Education. Dr. Borko’s research explores teacher cognition and instructional practices, the process of learning to teach, the impact of teacher professional development programs on teachers and students, and educational Research-Practice

Borko's research explores teachers’ instructional practices, the process of learning to teach, the impact of teacher professional development programs on teachers and students, and the preparation of professional development leaders. Hilda's current projects include partnerships with local school districts to improve teaching and professional development in mathematics and science, and to build capacity within the school districts to prepare and support professional development leaders, with a focus on enduring robust learning opportunities for all students.
