Academic interests

My research focuses on the development of educational scales, primary within the field of mathematics education.

Substantive Focus:

  • Mathematics didactics
  • National assessment systems
  • Norwegian context
  • Numeracy

Methodological Focus:

  • Differential Item Functioning
  • (Multidimensional) Item Response Theory
  • Scale development
  • Test-linking and vertical scaling

My current work is under the umbrella project Educational Measurement in the Norwegian Context, with principal investigators Rolf Vegar Olsen and Sigrid Blömeke.

Main supervisor: Rolf Vegar Olsen

Co-supervisor: Björn Andersson

I also organize writing seminars for PhD candidates at the Faculty of Educational Science and co-organize the Oslo UseR! group.

Main project

Vertical scaling of the Norwegian National Numeracy Tests (A scale for numeracy).

  • MAE4010 – Constructing Measures
    • Lecturer and teaching assistant
  • MAE4011 – Principles of Measurement
    • Lecturer and teaching assistant
  • MAE4231 - Research Seminar II: Researcher’s Skills and Professional Communication
    • Teaching assistant
  • UseR! Oslo Group: Item Response Theory in R – Modelling test results
