Course Description
This online workshop will guide participants through the process of synthesizing findings from multiple educational research studies using meta-analysis. We will cover key steps such as
- Understanding the organization of meta-analytic datasets
- Selecting an appropriate working model that represent the structure of a meta-analytic data set, including basic and advanced random-effects models (e.g., multilevel meta-analytic models, random-effects models with robust variance estimation)
- Identifying and explaining the variability in effect sizes
- Detecting and addressing potential publication bias in the research literature
In this workshop, we will utilize the R package “metafor” and supplementary packages for hands-on experience. Whether you are a researcher, statistician, or student, this workshop will equip you with the knowledge and tools to effectively analyze and synthesize meta-analytic data.
