Data Dugnad: Crowdsourcing BPVS and/or TROG2 item response data

As part of the SEALS project on progressive tests for language ability, we would be interested in making an attempt at crowd-sourcing item response data from all available Norwegian studies that administered one or both of two particular receptive-language tests: BPVS2 or TROG2, either in full or only a subset of items (e.g., test short-form).

All datasets would be welcome:

  • any file format (SPSS, Stata, excel, csv, rds, ...)
  • small or large samples
  • from typical or selected populations (e.g., clinical or diagnostic groups)

We will harmonize and anonymize the contributed datasets, and the final joint dataset will receive its own digital object identifier (doi) with all contributors listed as author, such that it can be easily reused and cited in further research. The dataset will be shared under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives license (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) in a dedicated Zenodo data repository where access depends on registration of email and purpose of use.

With a good set of contributors, a pretty neat and relevant database could be built for a more thorough instrument validation for the Norwegian population, with a stronger empirical basis than currently provided by the norm sample behind these instruments. Furthermore, it would, among other things, allow for some experimentation with alternative adaptive and dynamic test administration formats that could be relevant for use in a Response-To-Intervention context.
