Dr. Henri Pesonen (he/him) works as Professor (04/2024-) in the Department of Special Needs Education at the University of Oslo. Henri's research focuses on examining necessary support for ensuring inclusion and belonging for learners with special needs in education and society. His research addresses particularly autistic children, youth and adults. Much of Henri's recent autism research has focused on autistic children's belonging in early childhood education and autistic adults' university and employment experiences, among others.

Henri has also been involved in various projects focusing on inclusive education and interprofessional support for children with high support needs since 2012. Current projects focus on understanding the opportunities and barriers to interprofessional collaboration in challenging situations in early childhood education.
