Intervening on barriers to equality in education

The ambition of the research in Strand 2 is to develop effective and educationally meaningful interventions addressing barriers to equality. Interventions will focus on academically relevant skills such as oral, language, literacy, and mathematics.

We will test these interventions under different contextual conditions (such as different areas or neighborhoods) and thus provide the knowledge needed to implement them at a large scale. Our research will result in a complete intervention framework covering screening, content, delivery, assessment, and integration with other educational services.

As part of Strand 2, we will conduct randomized control trials and smaller experimental and observational studies. In addition to traditional educational assessments, our methods include eye-tracking and analyses of digital process data.
