Utdanningshistorisk nettverk og Institutt for spesialpedagogikk, UiO, inviterer til fagseminar 11.mai 2026.

This seminar will be held by Oliver Lüdtke. In this talk, he will present research comparing different approaches to estimating cross-lagged effects in longitudinal panel data. The seminar explores how widely used models rely on different assumptions, what they actually estimate, and what this means for interpreting relationships between variables over time in educational research.

This seminar will be held by Sondre Aasen Nilsen. In this talk, he will present research on whether income inequality influences adolescent depressive symptoms. Using large-scale Norwegian data, the seminar explores how changes in inequality relate to mental health over time, and what the findings suggest about the role of socioeconomic factors in shaping adolescents’ wellbeing.

This seminar will be held by Professor Silke M. Göbel. In this talk, she will present research on number transcoding, the ability to switch between spoken and written numerical formats, and its role in children’s mathematical development. The seminar explores how these skills are linked to performance, how language may shape their development, and presents results from a randomized controlled trial examining whether targeted transcoding training can improve young children’s numerical abilities.

This seminar will be held by Victoria Adedeji. In this talk, she will present research on how eye–voice span can provide new insights into oral reading processes. The seminar explores how features such as line boundaries may influence reading fluency, and how eye–voice span may offer a more informative real-time measure of reading than eye movement data alone, with implications for understanding the role of working memory in reading.
