About the Project
Digital inequalities pose an unprecedented and unresolved challenge for education. Systematic, reliable, and up-to-date information monitoring these “divides” and the possible factors mitigating them is scarce and fragmented.
The DiDiRes Hub project is aimed at generating new, generalizable, and robust evidence on the size, direction, and relevance of digital inequalities in education, identifying possible barriers and underlying mechanisms, and advancing theory building and method development in this field.
Digital inequalities are often described as “digital divides” and represent gaps between people in the access to information and communication technology. These gaps include physical, motivation- and skills-based, and usage-related access and are closely connected to social inequalities (e.g., across gender, age, experience, or socioeconomic status).
